why, why, why, WHY, can't people just get their heads screwed on straight?!?!?!?! I try, I really do, I try to do the best that I can and keep everyone happy and hopefully me too! So WHY, tell me WHY is it that it all suddenly comes crashing down about my ears? I mean, when you're planning a wedding, you expect that there will be little stresses along the way and that you'll have to learn to deal with them, I expect and accept that, but THIS, THIS is just the last straw right now. On top of my already emotional state, where my brain feel like a fried egg and with about that much semblance of holding myself together, it is just the last straw.
Let me tell you a story. I have three bridesmaids. That's ok, I always had three bridesmaids, but they weren't always these three. I have had to replace two of them over the course of the last month. Why? Because one of them is very sick and feels she will be unable to do everything without collapsing on the day (quite understandable, I have no argument with this and it's quite reasonable). The other one about 4 months ago just suddenly disappeared from the face of the earth. Despite my BEST efforts to contact her (which included sending her a bazillion text messages, calling her every other day and leaving voicemail on her phone every time, doing the same to her FIANCE'S phone in the hopes that he will hear it and let her know) there was nothing. It was like trying to contact a brick wall by telephone, for all my efforts were! So I think "well, ok, I'll have to replace her. That's alright, she's not done something to mortally offend me, she'll still be my friend, it's just if I see her again, I'll have to say, well I'm sorry you missed out, but I had to make a decision and you weren't there to help me make it" and on I go my merry way and ask two people to fill the respective places. By this time, I may emphasise, I had left it so late it was nearly impossible for me to get my hands on dresses for my bridesmaids. I replaced the AWOL bridesmaid first, last month, as she didn't let me know and I was unable to wait for her, and that was about a month ago. The other bridesmaid, the sick one, I replaced last week and she was excited. Both girls who were asked said yes without hesitation - I felt good about this. Anyway, two days ago, I suddenly get s text message from the AWOL bridesmaid saying something silly about "sorry about not contacting you but I had no credit, lame excuse I know, andyway, my dress size ranges from blah blah blah blah, anyway, see you Friday, luv Caitlin. I am given to understand that her fiance over heard one of the NEW bridesmaids, we'll call her Rebecca, who also happen to be my boyfriend's best friend's girlfriend (I know, sounds obscure) and also happens to be my friend, the AWOL bridesmaid's fiance overheard Rebecca talking about her new place in my bridal party. Quite fair enough, they work in the same place and she was naturally excited about it, so it wouldn't have been hard to overhear. Anyway, the fiance is not my problem, he's a lovely fella and I've no gripe with him. However, he obviously would have mentioned it to Caitlin since they are together and he knew that I had asked her originally. So anyway, she suddenly emerges (this follows the overhearing thing chronologically) with this text message, and I read it and I'm thinking "what the hell is going on here? why couldn't you get your act together sooner?" Would it have been THAT hard to pick up a phone, her fiance's phone or even her home phone or ANYTHING, just to give me 5 minutes of her time to give me the info that I needed?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
WHAT THE HELL, PEOPLE!!!!! What is that?!
